"You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy."
Arthur Ashe

Alpine Canada Alpin Development Team 2015-2016 2 nd Year ACA Development Team - Age 18
John Kucera, Peter Rybarik, Pavel Zurek
I can’t say enough good things about these coaches and look forward to working with them again next
season. Peter Rybarik will be with the Devo Girls next season. I will miss his tenacity.
Alpine Canada Alpin Development Team 2014-2015, 1 st Year ACA Development Team - Age 17
Kip Harrington, John Kucera, Pavel Zurek
These three coaches reinforced the idea that,
“Hard work and dedication lead to success” and also that, “One can be so tough on themselves mentally
due to poor race results, that it eventually perpetuates poor performance” .
Whistler Mountain Ski Club – Ages 14 to 16
Jeff McLennan, Robert (Bob) Armstrong, Rob Boyd, ‘Ryan Jazic
I had access on a daily basis to a great group of coaches and an incredible training facility in Whistler..
When we weren’t training gates, doing drills, or in the gym, these guys really knew how to free ski the
back bowls and off piste. Tons of free skiing and powder skiing continue to inspire me.
Georgian Peaks Ski Club - Ages 8 to 13
Richard Long
Richard helped to instill in me a desire for hard work and determination. I still remember those early
mornings and then, afternoons training till dusk on Riot Run. And then there were all those push-ups and
sit-ups when we slacked off.
